Yanek Korff is an accomplished information technologist. His specialties lie in information and systems security as demonstrated by the publication of Mastering FreeBSD and OpenBSD Security in 2005 and CISSP certification acquired in 2003. Yanek has worked for both small and large companies and seeks areas of the organization that are high energy and close-knit. - Implemented an SSL certificate vendor change affecting the Time Warner family of companies and reducing AOL's line item cost by over one third for 2006.
- Worked extensively with technical leaders of the security organization to help define a consistent view of user namespaces and management of account access and use. This supported both Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) audit requirements.
- Formalized and documented procedures and service level agreements associated with change control, especially relating to requests for QA services, and software installs. Achieved both team and customer buy-in to ensure smooth adoption and adherence to guidelines.
- Improved lines of communication and trust with customers ensuring a better working relationship and cooperation between teams.

- Customized and deployed automation and open source software solutions to improve the efficiency of the team, to include: Nagios-based systems monitoring with graphing for trend analysis, modular post-install system for OS (re)build, and a centralized configuration management system based on CVS and shell script automation.
